Beresford Shiraz Cabernet Savignon 1999
Under cork and 22 years old, we didn't have much expectation for this wine. It had been lurking unseen in the cellar for quite some time!
On opening, the nose was still very fruity and initially we thought the wine a little thin with prominent acid. It was left for an hour to breathe and warm up and served with a steak meal opened up to have good weight and mouthfeel. The purchase price would have been around $20 and our verdict was that the wine maker can be proud that this wine has stood the test of time and still able to deliver much pleasure.
