Jacobs Creek "Johann" Shiraz Cabernet Savignon 2001

Under cork and 20 years old, This wine still shows its class and anyone with any that has been carefully cellared can be confident it will remain an enjoyable drink for some years to come. It is definitely a food wine and in the company of another couple and a roast pork meal with crispy vegetables it was the perfect blend for an enjoyable evening.

The wine is bold and flavoursome with a perfect balance between tannins and fruit. I would have had difficulty guessing the age of this wine which is a tribute to the skillful winemaking that went into making it.

Unfortunately, it was a one off, but well worth the wait to gain the enjoyment from it.
